Title

The Death of New Racemic Drugs Was an Exaggeration

Abstract Summary

Since the late 1990s, racemates, as components of New Molecular Entity (NME) drugs, have been predicted to become a dead end. An evaluation of the role of racemates as a component of chiral drugs in the approvals of NME drugs, based on comprehensive surveys and analysis of FDA and Worldwide approved drugs, led to the conclusion that in spite of the tendency since the 1980s to develop single-enantiomer NMEs, racemic NMEs are available target. Thus, the death of racemic NMEs drugs was an exaggeration.
