Title

Efficiency and Cost Benefit Analysis of Narrative Automation Using Six Sigma as Compared to Industry-wide Benchmarking of Narrative Writing Using Traditional Methods and Resources

Abstract Summary

The DMAIC Six-Sigma process improvement model was used to reduce variability and to improve efficiency in narrative production. The time and cost efficiency achieved is compared to industry benchmarks collected from freelance writers as well as pharmaceutical/biotechnology companies and contract research organizations. Cost modeling is presented to estimate how much cost savings per drug approved and what additional benefits that companies can achieve using this improved approach.
